GDFL Welcomes the Lake Erie Power Pines
North Tonawanda, New York-The GDFL is proud to welcome the Lake Erie Power Pines to the league and looks forward to building a strong partnership for years to come. This new team from North Tonawanda, New York, brings not only a competitive spirit but also a name with deep meaning and community ties.
Team owners Brandon Perry, Dylan Perry, and Becky Perry are joined by team managers Nick Gregori, Quinton Gregory, and Derek Hendler in leading the Power Pines organization. After returning to football in 2024, Brandon Perry founded the team in honor of his friend and mentor, Dave Mascio, with whom he co-owned the Hamburg Hornets and Western New York Mustangs from 2013 to 2022.
The Power Pines name holds personal significance for Brandon Perry, inspired by his days as a Boy Scout when his patrol name was “Power Pines.” The team’s identity also connects with the local culture in North Tonawanda, where the community mascot is the lumberjack. The team’s logo, featuring crossing axes and a Catahoula Leopard Hound at the center, symbolizes local heritage, strength, and intelligence—a nod to the area’s spirit and pride.
Officially recognized as a sports team of North Tonawanda in October 2024, the Lake Erie Power Pines are committed to building a competitive team each year and honoring the legacy of their community.
Welcome to the GDFL, Lake Erie Power Pines!
