Strong overcome obstacles to claim their 3rd straight Division title

Buffalo,New York-The Syracuse Strong traveled to Buffalo NY on Saturday July 27 without starting Quarterback Jason Williams due to him not feeling well. Buffalo Stampede took advantage and scored first in the second quarter 6-0 just before half time.  Syracuse struggled on offense without their game manager & quarterback but the defense held strong recording an astonishing and record breaking a 11 sacks in the 4th quarter alone. 

Syracuse came alive in the fourth quarter when running back #22 Ishmiek Allen broke for a 40 yard run for a touchdown to tie the game at 6-6. Buffalo blocked the extra point.  The Syracuse defense held strong with a fumble recovery deep into their territory Strong offense was finally was able to gain some momentum and march 60 yards down the field late in the fourth quarter scoring the winning touchdown on a short pass to receiver #23 Greg Peterson.Putting the Strong in the driver’s seat 12-6.Syracuse went for the and important 2 point conversion, the Buffalo defense held strong to deny any additional point.

With under 2 mins remaining, Syracuse defense held as 2x all-pro defensiveback #21 Jeff Mcduffie got his 9th interception on of the season. Dashing the hopes of Stampede chances of a major upset and giving the Syracuse their third straight division title to end the game. Final score Syracuse 12- Buffalo 6.

Buffalo has one more opportunity to try to get payback as they will travel to Syracuse, New York Non August 3rd as the 4th seed. The question remains will the Strong sweep the Stampede in 2024 or will the Stampede get the upset that will send shockwaves across the nation
